1. Is it possible to weld the steels used by HPC?

It is possible to weld all of the steels used by HPC to manufacture gears. A brief reminder that the steels used are AF34C10 and 12NC15 which are carburizing steels, and AF60C40 and 35NCD6 which are steels for hardening + tempering. As far as the components distributed by HPC are concerned, it is advisable to consult us to find out about the weldability.

2. Are the gears presented in the catalogue treated?

The standard steel gears proposed in our catalogue are not treated. This is however something that can easily be modified; we can provide heat processing on request. The AF34C10 and 12NC15 steels are carburizing steels. Once case-hardened, they retain a surface value of 55-60 HRC and 57-62 HRC respectively.

The AF60C40 and 35NCD6 steels are for hardening throughout, where a hardness value of 40-45 HRC is obtained.
